This present invention relates to a spacer, comprising primarily a bulb support, an opening, a pair of connecting tabs and at least one isolating ring. Said spacer is an integral body of thin metal piece made by the stamping technique. Said opening, support and isolating ring are in concentric layout. In this invention, the support sits on the glass surface of the bulb. By bending the isolating ring in a certain way to form a cage-like isolating layer covering the bulb in its center.
