Spacers are used to align and separate the inner and outer rims of dual wheels used on large trucks. Existing spacer devices require a specially constructed wheel hub for receiving a unique spacer. The present invention provides a universal spacer, which includes a generally planar body with opposed fingers at one end and a foot at the other end thereof. The fingers are simply hooked onto the rim gutter flange of one rim of any dual wheel system, and the spacer is rotated into position against the outer end of a spoke. The specific structure of the spoke is of no consequence, i.e. no special wheel structure is required for the spacer of this invention.
