Abstract The invention relates to the new (+)-entantiomer of secoverine which has an anticholinergic spasmolytic activity in peripheral organs approximately twice as strong as that of the known racemate, while showing either no increased activity or even a reduced activity with respect to certain side effects. Processes for the preparation of the new compound are also disclosed.
