A speaker cabinet comprises a hollow rear member with an open front face, and a front driver-receiving board member for closing the open front face of the hollow rear member. The hollow rear member and the front board member are both made of a mixture of polystyrene and hardwood powder having a contents of 5-50% by weight of hardwood powder. To fabricate the speaker cabinet, the mixture of polystyrene and hardwood powder is melted and injected into mold cavities having the configuration of the hollow rear member and the front board member, respectively. The hardwood powder improves the acoustic properties of the plastic material and therefore the resonance characteristic and sound-reproducing performance of the speaker cabinet.
L'invention porte sur un haut-parleur comprenant un élément arrière creux avec une face avant ouverte et une carte d'attaque-réception avant qui ferme la face avant de l'élément arrière creux. Ce dernier et la carte avant sont tous deux composés d'un mélange de polystyrène et de poudre de bois dur, ayant un contenu de 5 à 50 % en poids de poudre de bois dur. Pour fabriquer le haut-parleur, le mélange de polystyrène et de poudre de bois dur est fondu, puis injecté dans les cavités de moules qui ont la configuration de l'élément arrière creux et de la carte avant, respectivement. La poudre de bois dur améliore les propriétés acoustiques de la matière plastique et donc les caractéristiques de résonance et le rendement de reproduction du son du haut-parleur.
