A speaker unit includes a pole piece having a through hole in the center. A lamp is provided on the front end of the through hole, and a transparent plastic center cap is provided in front of the lamp. The lamp is connected in series with the voice coil. The speaker unit emits light whose luminance varies with the speaker drive current while generating sound.
