Abstract A method for regulating gene expression in a stably transformed transgenic plant cell utilizing a Ga14 chimeric transcription factor is described. The present invention pertains to a method of regulating transgene expression using a two component system and, more particularly, to a system specific for stably transformed plants which comprises 1) a promoter containing Ga14 binding sites and, optionally, additional regulatory elements and 2) a chimeric transcription factor containing a Ga14 DNA binding domain and an activation domain.
