L'invention concerne un procédé de récupération sélective de chlore etd'anhydride carbonique d'un mélange gazeux. On soumet le mélange gazeux (13) à une combustion en présence d'hydrogène (15) de manière à convertir le chlore en chlorure d'hydrogène, on traîte le gas de combustion résultant (16) avec une solution aqueuse de chlorure de métal alcalin (18) pour y absorber le chlorure d'hydrogène, et on recueille un gaz résiduaire (20) contenant l'anhydride carbonique. L'invention a'applique notamment au traitement des mélanges gazeux résiduels de la liquéfaction du chlore produit par électrolyse d'une saumure.
