Systems for connecting PSTN lines to telephones, handsets, computers, telecopy machines and other end user interfaces or consumer electronics devices in a residence or business. Systems according to the present invention include Network Control Units which form the center of a star topology and which communicate via RF link with Wireless Access Units and handsets. Wireless Access Units feature an interface, such as, for example, a standard telephone jack, for accommodating a telephone, a fax machine, a compute modem or other device. Computers or other devices may also be accommodated by Wireless Access Units having other physical and virtual interfaces, including, for instance, serial ports or network interfaces. The Wireless Access Units may also be digital to accommodate ISDN for any other digital standard. Wireless control/monitoring accessories may also be employed to communicate with the Network Control Unit and provide additional functionality such as entrance monitoring, baby monitoring, HVAC control and other services. Such systems may monitor various bands of interest, process, store and change their operation according to information associated with signals or noise in such bands, and, if desired, report such information upstream to management nodes for various purposes.
La présente invention concerne des systèmes permettant de raccorder des lignes d'infrastructure de télécommunications à des téléphones, des combinés téléphoniques, des télécopieurs et autres interfaces utilisateurs ou dispositifs électroniques pour clients à l'intérieur d'une résidence ou d'une entreprise. Les systèmes selon l'invention comportent des unités de contrôle de réseau qui constituent le centre d'une topologie en étoile et communiquent par liaison radio avec des unités d'accès ou des combinés. Ces unités d'accès radio comportent une interface, par exemple une prise téléphone standard, pouvant recevoir un téléphone, un télécopieur, un modem d'ordinateur, etc. Elles conviennent pour des ordinateurs et autres dispositifs présentant d'autres interfaces physiques et virtuelles, des ports série ou des interfaces réseau. Ces unités de contrôle de réseau peuvent également être numériques et conviennent pour le RTPC avec toute autre norme numérique. On peut également mettre en oeuvre des accessoires de commande/surveillance radio pour communiquer avec l'unité de contrôle de réseau et élargir la palette de fonctions disponibles à des activités telles que surveillance des entrées, surveillance de bébés ou commande de chauffage/ventilation/climatisation notamment. De tels systèmes peuvent surveiller diverses bandes d'intérêt, traiter, mémoriser et modifier leur fonctionnement en fonction d'informations en rapport avec des signaux ou des bruits dans ces bandes et, au besoin transmettre à des fins diverses de telles informations vers des noeuds de décision en amont.
