A probe for a speculum for use in examining the interior of a body cavity. The probe comprises an elongated tubular member (1) having a first and second end and an expandable sealing element (2) encircling said tubular member at or near the first end (3). A means for admission of a fluid (50) is provided to the interior of said sealing element to effect expansion thereof. A removable closure means is adapted to engage the second end (30). A means for admission of a fluid into the bore of said tubular member is also provided (32). The closure means provides a line of sight and extending therethrough and along the bore of the tubular member.

La sonde se compose d'un élément tubulaire allongé (1) présentant une première et une seconde extrémité (3) et d'un élément étanche gonflable (2) entrourant cet élément tubulaire à la première extrémité ou à proximité de la première extrémité de ce dernier. Un moyen pour recevoir un fluide (50) est disposé à l'intérieure de cet élément étanche pour gonfler ce dernier. Un moyen de fermeture amovible est formé de manière à s'adapter à la seconde extrémité (30). La sonde comporte également des moyens (32) pour introduire un fluide dans la partie creuse de l'élément tubulaire. Les moyens de fermeture comportent une ligne d'observation qui traverse ces moyens et la partie creuse de l'élément tubulaire.
