An ACELP speech coding method according to G.729. When coding a random component vector, each of random component vector forming together the random codebook is formed of three or less pulses having a unit amplitude for each of a pair of subframes which form together a frame. The positions of the pulses are determined from a plurality of predetermined positions which a pulse can assume in a subframe so that a distortion in minimized.

L'invention est une méthode de codage de la parole ACELP conforme à la norme G.729. Dans le codage d'un vecteur à composantes aléatoires, chacun des vecteurs à composantes aléatoires constituant le code comporte trois impulsions ou moins ayant une amplitude unité pour chaque sous-bloc d'une paire de sous-blocs formant un bloc. Les positions des impulsions sont déterminées à partir d'une pluralité de positions prédéterminées possibles pour une impulsion dans un sous-bloc de façon à minimiser la distorsion.
