A method of encoding speech comprising dividing a speech signal into a series of frames, converting each of the frames into a coded signal including filter parameters, allocating consecutive series of frames to segments such that each segment corresponds to a particular language event classification, and quantising the frame or frames in a segment by reference to a codebook specific to the segment classification.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de codage de la parole qui consiste à diviser un signal vocal en une série de trames, à convertir chacune des trames en un signal codé comprenant des paramètres de filtrage, à attribuer des séries consécutives de trames à des segments de façon que chaque segment correspond à une classification d'événements de langage particuliers, et à quantifier la ou les trame(s) d'un segment en se référant à une liste de codage propre à la classification de ce segment.
