A Speech recognition method for selecting, via a speech input, an entry from a list of entries, the method comprising the following steps: - detecting a speech input, - recognizing a speech input, - providing fragments of the list entries, - comparing the recognised speech input to the list of entries in order to generate a candidate list of best matching entries based on the comparison result, wherein for generating the candidate list the recognised speech input is compared to said fragments of said entries.
