Abstract of Disclosure An instrument for use with 2 cuff for measuring blood pressure includes an elongated shell with an open top and bottom, and a closed cross-section. An upper covering wall is fitted inside the shell to form a bottomless cavity and a lower covering wall is provided to close the bottom of the cavity to form a mercury storage container. A capillary measuring tube is disposed in a longitudinal groove in the ' shell and communicates with the mercury storage container by means of a passageway formed in the lower covering wall. The cuff is coupled to the instrument through a hose fitting mounted to the shell in communication with the mercury storage container, In use, pressurized air from the cuff is admitted to the mercury storage container via a hose which is conveniently connected to the fitting and causes the mercury to rise in the capillary measuring tube. Scales affixed to the outer surface of the shell along the groove indicate the air pressure in the cuff, and therefore, the blood pressure.
