ABSTRACT A molded drum having roller chimes of L-shaped section formed directly from the drum body adjacent the drum head and bottom. Each roller chime has a horizontal leg extending radially of the axis of the drum and a vertical leg aligned parallel to the axis of the drum and pointing upwardly adjacent the area of the drum head and downwardly adjacent in the area of the drum bottom. A detachable extension extends from one of the legs of each roller chime to a length in dependence upon the varying amount of material in the drum body as measured about the circumference of the drum such that the profile of each roller chimes has a constant cross-sectional dimension about the circumference of the drum. The present invention also relates to an apparatus suitable for forming the molded drum and having extension recesses for receiving the excess material forming the extensions.
