ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A spike for anchoring a post to the ground, the spike including an elongated member having a fold line extending from one end of the elongated member which has a point for facilitating the entry of the elongated member into the ground to another end of the elongated member, a clamping member co-operating with the other end of the elongated member to define a socket for receiving the post, and a fastener for fastening the post to the spike.
