Abstract of the Disclosure A beverage mug with a spill-proof lid having a peripheral wall adapted to engage the rim of the mug and a panel extending across the lid provided with diametrically spaced-apart openings and a valve on the interior of the lid operated by a lever pivoted on the exterior of the lid to open and close fluid communication between the interior of the mug and the openings in the panel. The valve includes a disc adapted to engage a valve seat on the lid and a spring- urged lever connected to a valve stem for operating the valve to open and close the valve disc against the valve seat.
