ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A spillage retainer device for dump trucks having a truck bed with upstanding walls extending therefrom is positioned on a tail gate and extending between the walls has an angularly disposed front wall. An elongated flange extends rearwardly from the upper edge of the front angularly disposed wall which is inclined -forwardly and downwardly. A plurality of spaced elongated support ribs extend from the front angularly disposed wall to a secondary wall, a device for securing the spillage retainer device to the tail gate, and a device for resiliently sealing the tail gate to the truck bed.
