Orthopedic implants are disclosed that may be used in spinal applications. In one embodiment, a plate portion (1,101) is provided with a threaded protrusion (5) on which a connector for attachment to an orthopedic rod can be fitted. The protrusion (5) may be multi-axially orientable with respect to said plate portion (1,101) . The plate portion may include a dome (8) having an inner surface (26) that may be of conical shape, through which a portion of the protrusion (5) may extend. A pin (27) may be provided to retain the protrusion (5) in place with respect to the dome (8). A second plate portion (13, 104)may be provided, which may be integral with or movable with respect to the first plate portion (1,101) , that can be connected to a bone, e.g. iliac or sacral bone.
