The invention concerns a pump with spirals comprising means (29, 19, 19A) for preserving a minimum clearance between the joints (5) arranged on the ridges of each spiralling wall (27, 28, 33, 34) and the flat wall (25, 26, 31, 32) facing it. Such an arrangement, which is made possible by the low pressure difference prevailing between the two adjacent transfer chambers (50, 51), prevents the wear of the joints, the soiling of the transfer chambers as well as overheating caused by friction between the joints.
La pompe à spirales comprend des moyens (29, 19, 19A) permettant de conserver un jeu minime entre les joints (5) disposés sur les arêtes de chacune des parois en spirale (27, 28, 33, 34) et la paroi plane (25, 26, 31, 32) qui lui fait face. Une telle disposition, possible vu la faible différence de pression existant entre deux chambres de transfert adjacentes (50, 51), permet d'éviter l'usure des joints, l'encrassement des chambres de transfert ainsi que l'échauffement dû au frottement des joints.
