The present disclosure describes a spiral cross-flow filter. The spiral cross-flow filter includes a filter element having a continuous web of leaves (7) formed by pleating a laminate filter element. The filter element may include a composite filter material including a first layer of a membrane material (9)adjacent an outer shell, and a second layer (10) of a permeate spacer material adjacent a permeate tube (4). The plurality of leaves wrap around the permeate tube in a uniform "spiral" configuration and may be separated by feed spacers.
