A gasket for sealing between two substantially planar faces is described, the gasket comprising a radially outer metal containment member wound from at least one turn of a metal strip; a sealing portion of a softer filler material lying radially inwardly of the containment member and including at least two turns of said filler material, and, an inner containment member of at least one turn of a metal strip. The gasket is particularly useful where only relatively low clamping loads are available.

Cette invention concerne un joint servant à réaliser l'étanchéité entre deux surfaces sensiblement planes et qui comporte une bague métallique formée d'au moins une spire de feuillard à sa périphérie extérieure, une partie scellement faite d'au moins deux spires de matériau plus mou et disposée radialement à l'intérieur de cette bague et une bague intérieure formée d'au moins une spire de feuillard. L'objet de l'invention est particulièrement utile dans les applications où les efforts de serrage sont relativement faibles.
