ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A splintering projectile and method of making the same, according to which pre-shaped splinters of hard material, especially of hard metal, are embedded in and are on all sides surrounded by a supporting framework of metal powder and together with the latter are pressed and sintered to- gether to form a sinter sleeve. The thus formed splinter mantle surrounds a fine porous sinter mantle which in turn surrounds an explosive charge adapted in response to a de- tenation to compress the fine porous sinter mantle.
