A chair (10) with independent control of a lumbar portion of a seat back (18) and a thoracic portion (32) of the seat back, has a seat (14) connected with a base (12) and a control (16) connected with the base, generally under the seat. A first support (76). pivotally connected with the control, extends from the control to the thoracic portion (32) of the seat back. The two supports operate independently and the thoracic and lumbar portions of the seat back rotate independently rearward with respect to the seat (14), providing sympathetic back support for a user. The thoracic portion may rotate laterally to follow twisting movements of a user's thoracic region. The lumbar portion may be connected with the second support to limit lateral rotation of the lumbar portion.

Une chaise (10) permettant de régler indépendamment la partie lombaire du dossier (18) ainsi que la partie thoracique (32) de celui-ci, présente un siège (14) relié à une base (12), ainsi qu'une commande (16) reliée à la base, se trouvant habituellement sous l e siège. Un premier support (76) relié pivotant à la commande s'étend depuis ladite commande jusqu'à la partie thoracique (32) du dossier. Les deux supports fonctionnent indépendamment et les parties thoraciques et lombaires du dossier tournent indépendamment vers l'arrière par rapport au siège (14), assurant à l'utilisateur un support du dos sympathique. La partie thoracique peut tourner latéralement afin de suivre des mouvements de torsion de la région thoracique de l'utilisateur. La partie lombaire peut être reliée au second support afin de limiter la rotation latérale de ladite partie lombaire.
