SPLIT DEVELOPER HOUSING ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A development system for developing latent electro- static images carried by a substrate has a split housing, whereby internal portions of the system may be accessed for maintenance purposes and the like, without disturbing the interface between the development system and the image bearing substrate. For example, a cascade development system having a development electrode is provided with a split housing so that the critical spacing between the development electrode and the image bearing substrate need not be altered to internally access the system.
