A novel workpiece engaging nose body (20) for holding a screwstrip (14) having screws (16) held in a strap (13) is provided. The workpiece engaging nose body includes a nose portion (24) and a rear portion (22) with the nose portion slidably mounted on the rear portion for movement rearwardly when the nose is urged into a workpiece to drive a screw. An exitway (87) is defined between the nose portion and rear portion through wich spent strap from wich screws have been driven exit the nose body. On urging the nose body into the workpiece, the nose portion slides rearwardly to engaged the strap in the exitway and move it rearwardly into engagement with the rear portion in the exitway. The strap is preferably "pinched" in the exitway between the nose portion and rear portion to assist in locating a screw to be driven from the nose body.
L'invention concerne un embout (20) entrant en prise avec une pièce, destiné à recevoir un étrier à vis (14) comportant des vis (16) fixées dans un étrier (13). Ledit embout comporte une partie avant (24) et une partie arrière (22), la partie avant étant montée de façon coulissante sur la partie arrière de manière à coulisser vers l'arrière lorsqu'elle est introduite dans une pièce afin d'entraîner une vis. Un passage de sortie (87) est créé entre la partie avant et la partie arrière, un étrier ayant servi à l'entraînement des vis sortant par l'intermédiaire dudit passage. Lorsque la partie avant est introduite dans la pièce, la partie avant coulisse vers l'arrière afin d'encastrer l'étrier dans le passage de sortie et de le déplacer vers l'arrière, en prise avec la partie arrière dans le passage de sortie. L'étrier est de préférence pincé dans le passage de sortie, entre la partie avant et la partie arrière afin de contribuer au positionnement d'une vis devant être entraînée par la partie avant.
