ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus and method of attaching an auxiliary heat exchanger to a split refrigeration system. The auxiliary heat exchanger is in heat transfer relationship with a supply of water. Connectors are provided in bypass relationship with a valve arranged in the liquid line. The auxiliary heat exchanger, when desired, is closed placing the auxiliary heater in series flow relationship with the system condenser.
