ABSTRACT A hydraulic wood splitter utilizes a plurality of blades extending radially outwardly from a center pin. The ends of the blades are supported by tie rods extending parallel to the direction of movement of a ram used to push a log, or a section of a log, against the blades. The blade thickness can be less and hence the splitting force required can be less than with prior art splitters.
