ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention is directed to a sponge applicator head. More particularly, this invention is directed to a sponge applica- tor head attachable to a bottle for dispensing a liquid for treat- ment of a surface, which comprises a casing to be inserted into the neck of the bottle, said casing having top and bottom surfaces, and an open-pore sponge partially enclosed and compressed by the casing to form a projecting, substantially mushroom-shaped or semi-spherical cap of uncompressed sponge just above the outer surface of the casing, the top surface of the casing having below the cap of uncompressed sponge a substantially axially extending circular groove with one or more openings passing axially through the casing to the bottom surface thereof. -A-
