A method is provided of stabilizing a sport racket strung with synthetic strings, such as nylon strings, and imparting thereto additional friction that enables to achieve improved ball control during play, which comprises: roughening the strings at least in the main hitting area of the racket; coating the roughened strings with a polymer capable of stabilizing the strings and providing the same with extra friction; and curing the polymer on the strings so as to produce an essentially permanent polymeric coating at least in the main hitting area of the racket. Also the improved racket treated in accordance with the above method is part of the present invention.

L'invention concerne une méthode de stabilisation d'une raquette de sport garnie de cordes synthétiques, par exemple des cordes en nylon, et donnant à la raquette davantage de friction pour un meilleur contrôle de la balle, cette disposition consistant à rendre les cordes plus rugueuses dans la zone principale de contact de la raquette, à enduire les cordes rugueuses d'un polymère pouvant stabiliser les cordes et leur donner un supplément de friction, et à assurer la cure du polymère sur les cordes de manière à produire un enduit polymérique essentiellement permanent au moins dans la zone principale de contact de la raquette. De plus, la raquette améliorée traitée selon la méthode ci-dessus fait également partie de la présente invention.
