ABSTRACT A synthetic sporting surface for tennis courts comprises a laminate of (1) a cushioned porous base layer formed from a matrix of liquid polyurethane polymer mixed with rubber particles; (2) a layer of curable liquid polyurethane which seals the porous surface of the base layer; (3) an adhesive layer reinforced with non-woven glass fibre cloth; and, (4) an acrylic top coat which acts as a wear layer. The adhesive layer is comprised of a curable acrylic or polyurethane aqueous latex capable of forming strong chemical bonds between the sealant layer and the acrylic top coat to provide a durable cushioned playing surface.
