ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There are several ways of improving the human hand's grip upon an object (such as an exercise barbell). These include taping the hand, using gloves with ribbed surfaces, and strap arrangements. The SPORTS GRIPPING SYSTEM replaces these with a hand worn device (usually, but not necessarily) mounted on a gloves Its three components are: 1. flaps hanging from the thumb area which act as extended or second thumbs and which tend to adhere to matched surfaces on the fingers and / or palms; and 2. a detachable wrist strap which encircles the object being gripped the gripping portion of which tends to adhere to surfaces on the palm and/or fingers; and 3. a flap extending from the thumb which adheres to surfaces on the front of the fist. The gripping surfaces may be adhesive material or some substitute.
