A net system for covering a garage door opening is provided. The net system has a net sized to substantially cover the garage door opening. A first side of the net is attached to a first side of the garage door opening. A top of the net is slidably attached to a top of the garage door opening. A second side of the net is releasably attachable to the second side of the garage door opening. When not in use, the second side of the net is slid to the first side of the garage door opening so that the net covers little of the garage door opening. To use the net, the second side of the net is slid across the garage door opening and attached to the second side of the garage door opening so that the net is spread across the garage door opening.
