A welding assembly including a welding gun for providing spaced welds on opposite sides of members being welded. The welding gun includes two welding tips (44,48) so that both welds can be formed without moving the gun or the members relative to each other. Preferably one weld tip is connected to a force applying mechanism such as a hydraulic cylinder (30) to clamp the members together and improve the connection between the weld tips and the members. The weld gun can be used for making one or two welds while in the engaged position around the members being welded. Also, one of the weld tips can be replaced with a support that merely provides the force applying function.
Cet ensemble de soudage comprend un pistolet à souder servant à exécuter des soudures espacées sur des côtés opposés d'éléments en cours de soudage. Ce pistolet à souder comprend deux extrémités de soudage (44, 48) de façon à pouvoir former deux soudures sans qu'il soit nécessaire de déplacer le pistolet ou les éléments les uns par rapport aux autres. De préférence, une extrémité de soudage est reliée à un mécanisme d'application de force, tel qu'un vérin hydraulique (30) servant à serrer les éléments ensemble et à améliorer le raccordement entre les extrémités de soudage et les éléments. Il est possible d'utiliser le pistolet à souder pour exécuter une ou deux soudures pendant que le pistolet est mis en position de contact, autour des éléments en cours de soudage. De même il est possible de remplacer l'une des extrémités de soudage par un support servant simplement à remplir la fonction d'application de force.
