SPOUT ATTACHMENT SYSTEM ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The plastic spout of an electric kettle is secured to the periphery of a spout aperture in the body of the kettle by way of a retainer ring contained within the spout aperture crimped in clamping engagement with an inturned flange of the spout located in overlying relation with a portion of the periphery of the spout aperture. The plastic spout inturned flange is provided with one or more ribs on the face thereof abutting the periphery of the kettle spout aperture, to effect sealing therewith under the compressive load provided by the crimped ring portion. The retainer ring may comprise a separate crimp ring or a flange portion drawn out from the kettle blank.
