ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A spout cover for a container such as a kettle or decanter is manually operable and consists of a handle positioned above the container, a cover flap shaped in conformity with the spout opening, a hinge remains connecting the cover flap with the container to permit movement of the flap between open and closed positions. A lever is pivotally mounted with one end on the handle and the other connected to the cover flap, the handle and cover flap being integrally formed from a plastics material. The lever is biased outwardly from the handle to retain the flap in a normally closed position.
