A process for recovering oil from a water-soluble vinyl-addition polymer- containing water-in-oil emulsion or water-in-oil microemulsion spray-drying process, comprising: (a) condensing spray-dry process-generated oil and water to obtain condensed oil and condensed water; and (b) separating said condensed oil from said condensed water wherein said condensed oil is substantially free of non-gaseous polymerization-debilitating substances.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour récupérer un hydrocarbure dans une émulsion d'eau dans l'huile contenant des polymères d'addition de vinyle hydrosolubles, ou bien un procédé de séchage par atomisation, d'une micro-émulsion d'eau dans l'huile, consistant a) à condenser un hydrocarbure produit par séchage par atomisation et de l'eau pour obtenir un hydrocarbure condensé et de l'eau condensée; et b) à séparer l'hydrocarbure condensé de l'eau condensée, l'hydrocarbure condensée étant pratiquement dépourvue de substances débilitantes de polymérisation non-gazeuses.
