An insulation confining shield (10) and application method, the shield mountable between elongated structural framing members (18) in an unfinished wall or ceiling for insulation (28) dispensed as curable liquid having a blowing agent or an insulation material with a curable adhesive, comprising: a sheet of elongated semi-rigid or rigid material having a center web section (12) and a pair of opposed flanges (14) extending substantially perpendicular from the center web section defining an insulation confining volume (16), the web section and the flanges being constructed and arranged to fit between the structural framing members in the wall or ceiling to retain the insulation when cured after being applied against the web section and the flanges, in one embodiment, the flanges having a plurality of vent apertures (26) defined therethrough to enable a quantity of the insulation, when applied, to migrate from the insulation confining volume to an area (34).
Ecran (10) d'isolation obturant et procédé d'application. L'écran peut être monté entre des éléments (18) de structure allongés situés sur un mur ou un toit non achevés. Il permet d'appliquer un isolant (28) sous forme d'un liquide durcissable, contenant un agent d'expansion, ou d'une matière isolante contenant un adhésif durcissable. L'écran comporte une feuille de matière rigide ou semi-rigide allongée dotée d'une partie centrale plate (12) et d'une paire de rebords opposés (14), s'étendant de manière sensiblement perpendiculaire à partir de la partie centrale plate, qui définissent ensemble un volume (16) d'isolation obturant. La partie plate et les rebords sont réalisés et conçus pour s'emboîter entre les éléments de structure situés dans le mur ou dans le plafond en vue de retenir l'isolant lorsqu'il se durcit après son application contre la partie plate et les rebords. Selon un mode de réalisation, les bords sont dotés d'une pluralité d'orifices (26) à évents qui permettent le déplacement d'une quantité d'isolant, lors de son application, du volume d'isolation obturant vers une zone (34).
