A B S T R A C T A central duct of the spraying apparatus has the longitudinal configuration of a Laval nozzle having, in the direction of flow, a neck 0.7 to 2 mm in diameter followed by a divergent part. One or more lateral ducts open towards the longitudinal axis of the central duct adjacent the outlet end of its divergent part, inside and/ or outside the duct. The outlet axes of the lateral ducts are inclined with respect to the said longitudinal axis in the direction of flow. In spraying a mist, water is supplied to the apparatus under a pressure of up to 6 kg/cm2 and air is supplied under a pressure of at least 3 kg/cm2, the air being supplied along the central duct.
