A spring-applied parking brake with manual release and reapply. A gear box fixed relative to the rear wall of a cylinder has a manual crank. A pushrod extending through the cylinder and gear box is connected to provide braking force. A threaded collet surrounding helical threads on the pushrod has flexible radially expandable tines. When the gear box is manually cranked, the pushrod is rotated and due to interaction of the threads on the inside of the collet and on the pushrod, the pushrod is moved axially releasing or reapplying the brake.
Linvention concerne un frein de stationnement à ressort avec libération et resserrage manuel. Une boîte de vitesses fixée relativement à la paroi arrière dun cylindre dispose dune manivelle manuelle. Une tige de culbuteur, sétendant à travers le cylindre et la boîte de vitesses, est connectée de manière à fournir une force de freinage. Une pince filetée entourant les filets hélicoïdaux de la tige de culbuteur a des dents flexibles et extensibles radialement. Quand la boîte de vitesses est manuellement démarrée, la tige de culbuteur est tournée et, du fait de linteraction des filets sur lintérieur de la pince et sur la tige de culbuteur, ladite tige de culbuteur est déplacée axialement, en libérant ou en resserrant le frein.
