BE IT KNOWN that Philip Alan Sturgess and Alan Reginald Turner of 3 John Street, London WCl 2ES, England, having made an invention entitled "Spring Brake Actuators" the following disclosure contains a correct and full description of the invention and of the best mode known to the inventors of taking advantage of the same. Abstract A spring brake actuator comprises a piston and a spring to urge the piston and an output member coupled thereto in a brake applying direction, the piston being coupled to the output member by means of two buttress screw threaded parts to enable release of the force of the spring by adjustment of the screw threaded parts from the outside, the screw threaded parts being mutually disengageable by the application of fluid pressure to the piston to enable reinstatement of the compressed state of the spring. - 1 -
