80AE02352 SPRING-DAMPER HINGE ASSEMBLY Abstract of the Disclosure A spring damper hinge assembly is provided by a first hinge half being a clevis structure with a cylindrical hinge bolt extending across the remote ends and a second hinge half having a hollow cylindrical shaft of a slightly larger diameter than the bolt mounted coaxially about the bolt by angular contact or ball bearings. A negator spring is coupled between the first and second hinge halves for providing the drive torque between the hinge halves. Damping is provided by a highly viscous damping fluid sealed in the gap between the bolt and the shaft to provide damping between said bolt and said shaft.
