A specialized hand tool (10) utilized for inserting and removing spring nuts (18) from channels (20) and the like. The tool (10) includes a shaft (12) having a coextending, telescoping handle (14) at one end. The other end of the shaft terminates in a nut receiving and holding member (16) configured for entry in a channel (20) to engage a spring nut (18) and secure or remove the same. Magnets (24), a depending flange (16b) and a stud (22) are positioned on the undersurface (16a) of the holding member (16) to enhance engagement to the nut (18).
