The device is a differential type valve used for dry pipe fire protection as a Sprinkler or Deluge System Control Valve. Conduits and trim susceptible to freezing are minimised if not eliminated; instead internal passageways through the valve are used to connect the pressure from one zone to another. Different versions are presented, the advantages of each mentioned. The proposed device in its different forms, consists mainly of a housing and a plug, seal rings are used to prevent the water and or air pressure from being transmitted from one area to another. A damper is added to absorb pulses in the water supply line. Consisting of few parts, the device is simple, easy to arm and to maintain, cheaper to manufacture in addition to its main advantage that of having a minimum wetted surfaces exposed to freezing.
