Abstract of the Disclosure A drive sprocket for use with an elongate, endless saw chain, the sprocket being a substantially cylindrical member having pockets spaced circumferentially thereabout for receiving drive tangs on the saw chain with sprocket edge margins adjacent the tang-receiving pockets providing support for bottom surfaces of the side links of the saw chain. The pockets have enlarged clearing portions opening radially outwardly from the sprocket which are wider than remainder portions of the pockets. The clearing openings are configured and positioned to allow debris to clear radially from the pockets.
