ABSTRACT An inexpensive, effective spur cancellation system. In the invention system, an input signal having a spur is split into first and second signals, with the first signal and the second signal having a first predetermined phase relationship. Third and fourth signals are provided in accordance with a second predetermined phase relationship. The first signal is mixed with the third signal to provide a fifth signal. The second signal is mixed with the fourth signal to provide a sixth signal. The fifth and sixth signals are combined in accordance with a third predetermined phase relationship to provide an output signal in which the spur is substantially reduced. The phase relationships are a function of frequency. In a particular embodiment, the first phase relationship is the same as that of the second phase relationship, i.e., 180 degrees, and the third phase relationship is zero degrees. Other combinations of phases and frequencies are well within the scope of the invention.
