PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention concerne un procédé pour améliorer la stabilité de solutions aqueuses contenant du peroxyde d'hy- drogène, des ions métalliques et de l'acide fluorhydrique pouvant être partiellement sous forme de sels. Ce procédé est caractérisé en ce qu'on ajoute à ladite solution au moins un hydroxyde choisi parmi les hydroxydes de métaux alcalins et l'hydroxyde d'ammonium, en quantité insuffisan- te pour neutraliser la totalité de l'acidité présente. Les solutions stabilisées selon l'invention sont notamment utilisables lors de traitement de surface des métaux, et en particulier des aciers inoxydables.
