This invention discloses an orally administered pharmaceutical composition comprising microparticles of solid fenofibrate that are stabilized by a phospholipid surface active substance that is present during the preparation of the microparticles, wherein a therapeutically effective amount of the composition provides a quantity of fenofibrate active species to a fasted human patient in need of treatment by fenofibrate that is greater than 80 % of the quantity of fenofibrate active species provided by the same amount of the composition when administered to the same patient who has been fed a high fat meal consisting of at least 1000 calories, 50 % of which are from fat. The present invention also provides a method of treatment of dislipidemia and dislipoproteinemia in a mammal consisting of administering a therapeutically effective oral dosage form comprising microparticles of a solid fibrate that are stabilized by a phospholipid surface active substance wherein the dosage form provides into the blood of the patient in a fasted state a therapeutically effective amount of a fibrate active species that is at least 90 % of the AUC amount of the fibrate active species provided by the same dosage form into the blood of the same patient when the patient is in a fed state.

Cette invention a trait à une composition, à administration par voie orale, renfermant des microparticules de fenofibrate, stabilisées par une substance tensioactive phospholipidique présente lors de la préparation des microparticules. L'administration d'une quantité efficace du point de vue thérapeutique de cette composition apporte à un patient humain à jeun une certaine quantité d'une espèce de fenofibrate active, supérieure de 80 % à la quantité d'une espèce de fenofibrate active procurée par la même quantité de la composition administrée au même patient ayant absorbé une nourriture à haute teneur en graisses, laquelle nourriture lui ayant apporté au moins 1000 calories, dont 50 % proviennent des graisses. Cette invention porte également sur un traitement, destiné à des mammifères, contre la dishyperlipidémie et la dislipoprotéinimie, consistant à administrer à ceux-ci une forme posologique efficace du point de vue thérapeutique contenant des microparticules d'un fibrate solide stabilisé par une substance tensioactive phospholipidique. Cette forme posologique apporte au sang du patient à jeun une quantité efficace du point de vue thérapeutique d'une espèce active de fibrate, représentant au moins 90 % de la quantité de surface sous la courbe des taux sanguins, de l'espèce active de fibrate apportée par la même forme posologique lorsque le patient a absorbé une nourriture.
