The invention provides a method of improving the viscosity stability upon storage of a fabric softening composition comprising: (a) 0.5 % to 30 % by weight of at least one ester-linked quaternary ammonium fabric softening compound, (b) perfume, and (c) an alkoxylated nonionic surfactant, by the inclusion in the composition of at least one oily sugar derivative in a weight ratio of softening compound to sugar derivative in the range 30:1 to 1:1. Also provided are a fabric softening composition produced by the method of the invention, a method of treating fabric by applying thereto said composition and the use of a particular oily sugar derivative to provide viscosity stability at 37 °C to a fabric softening composition comprising 0.5 % to 30 % by weight of at least one ester-linked quaternary ammonium fabric softening compound, a perfume and an alkoxylated nonionic surfactant.
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant d'améliorer la stabilité de la viscosité lors du stockage d'une composition assouplissante pour tissu. Cette composition comprend (a) 0,5 % à 30 % en poids d'au moins un composé assouplissant pour tissu d'ammonium quaternaire lié à un ester, (b) du parfum, et (c) un tensioactif non ionique alcoxylé. Ce procédé consiste à inclure dans la composition au moins un dérivé de sucre huileux dans un rapport de poids composé assouplissant/dérivé de sucre situé dans une plage comprise entre 30/1 et 1/1. En outre, l'invention traite d'une composition assouplissante pour tissus produite par le procédé selon l'invention, et d'un procédé consistant à traiter le tissu en lui appliquant ladite composition . L'invention traite également de l'utilisation de dérivés de sucres huileux permettant de conférer une stabilité de viscosité à 37 DEG C à une composition assouplissante pour tissu, comprenant entre 0,5 % et 30 % en poids d'au moins un composé assouplissant pour tissu d'ammonium quaternaire lié à un ester, un parfum et un tensio-actif non ionique alcoxylé.
