The present invention is directed to ACE inhibitor-containing compositions stabilized by the presence of magnesium oxide. Preferably, the ACE inhibitor, quinapril, is protected from certain forms of degradation when prepared in a pharmaceutical composition consisting essentially of magnesium oxide as the stabilizing agent. The presence of magnesium oxide also lends itself to favorable processing conditions during the manufacture of ACE inhibitor- containing compositions, especially processing by wet granulation.
La présente invention concerne des compositions contenant des inhibiteurs de l'enzyme de conversion de l'angiotensine (ACE) stabilisées par la présence d'oxyde de magnésium. De préférence, l'inhibiteur de ACE, le quinapril, est protégé de certaines formes de dégradation lorsqu'il est préparé dans une composition pharmaceutique comprenant essentiellement de l'oxyde de magnésium comme agent stabilisant. La présence d'oxyde de magnésium se prête également à des conditions de traitement favorables pendant la fabrication de compositions contenant l'inhibiteur d'ACE, notamment le traitement par granulation par voie humide.
