ABSTRACT An absorbent pad particularly useful in the manu- facture of disposable diapers, comprising wood fibers that are stabilized within the pad by means of a plurality of filaments incorporated into the pad with a network of adhesive bonds such that the fibers within the pad are prevented from shifting from location to location within the pad. By reason of this stabili- zation of the fibers within the pad, there is prevented the slumping and/or lumpiness heretofore experienced in such pads that are not stabilized.
